So, what's a bunch of Hooligans doing developing software and digital solutions? Well, every story has a start. (And every Hooligan plays their part.)
Hooligan is the brainchild of Ricardo Carvalho and Malcolm McMorran – our head Hoolis. Years after meeting during their studies, these college buddies and computer buffs finally found themselves working together and got to talking. Sick of being underpaid, undervalued and completely misunderstood in both the creative and the corporate industries, they were ready to make a change. With a combined 15 years of experience (and many hard-earned lessons) between them, they sat down in 2013 and founded Hooligan Development – a collective of developers, created and run by developers. They had one client, a clear vision and a simple mission: Get the best people for the job and treat them the way they deserve to be treated.
We fully believe rules are meant to be broken and encourage dissidence, when necessary. But in the interest of creating a working environment where everyone feels welcome and valued, some things are non-negotiable for us.
This is the {code} we live by.
With our focus firmly on the constant development of our developers, we've grown a lot and achieved some pretty cool milestones in less than 10 years.

We live, sleep, eat, drink and breathe development. But not in the way you'd think. We invest as much energy into the personal and professional development of our people as we do into the development of solutions for our clients. Because an underdeveloped team delivers underwhelming results. And no-one wants that.
